About the study

The study records breathing flow and pressure waveforms while healthy adult volunteers breathe through three commercially available respiratory therapy systems for brief, standardized recordings.

What's involved

• The visit takes about 20 minutes.
• You'll breathe through a mouthpiece while wearing a nose clip.
• Each device is tested at 10 and 15 cmH₂O with a 4 Hz frequency setting.
• No medication, saline, nebulized aerosol, supplemental oxygen, ventilator connection, or invasive interface is used.

Good to know

• You'll receive $100 to participate.
• You may be eligible if you're 18 or older, have no known active pulmonary disease, and can breathe through a mouthpiece with a nose clip.
• Participation is voluntary, and you can stop at any time. The study team will review the consent form with you before anything begins.
